About Dr. Aliya Mushtaq

Meet Dr. Aliya Mushtaq, an Interventional Cardiologist with two decades of experience treating patients in the Greater Houston area. Dr. Mushtaq earned her medical degree from the University of Nairobi College of Health Sciences in 2005, then completed her Internal Medicine residency at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

She continued her cardiovascular training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she completed both her general Cardiovascular Disease fellowship and her advanced Interventional Cardiology fellowship. This combination equips her to manage the full spectrum of heart disease, from initial diagnosis through complex catheter-based interventions.

Dr. Mushtaq is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. Her clinical focus encompasses all aspects of general and preventive cardiology, extending to interventional cardiology to include procedures such as angioplasty, percutaneous coronary interventions, and peripheral vascular procedures to treat both arterial and venous disease. Her expertise lies in performing complex procedures through the trans-radial route, offering patients shorter procedural stays, and she is well recognized for her excellent procedural outcomes.

Dr. Mushtaq will be seeing patients in our Willowbrook, Spring, and Woodlands locations, with same-day appointments and on-site diagnostics available.
