A small device inserted under the skin to monitor your heartbeat if you have an irregular one (arrhythmia).
The purpose of a loop recorder insertion is to monitor your heartbeat if you have an irregular one (arrhythmia). The device functions similarly to an ECG, but with a crucial difference: the ECG monitors your heartbeat only for a few seconds while loop recorder insertion does it for a longer period. Medical professionals use the data gathered to identify cardiac issues and develop appropriate treatment strategies.
The procedure takes place in a cardiac catheterization laboratory at our facility. The insertion involves local anesthesia and requires approximately 15 to 20 minutes. During the procedure, a small incision is made on the upper chest and a small pocket is created for the device to sit there after our cardiologist sets it to the required level. Our experienced practitioners minimize discomfort following the procedure.
The device monitors irregular heartbeats, specifically arrhythmias. The gathered cardiac monitoring data enables our cardiologists to confirm heart conditions and formulate appropriate treatment plans for patients experiencing heart rhythm abnormalities.
Our interventional cardiologists have extensive experience performing loop recorder with consistently excellent outcomes. With on-site capabilities, you benefit from the convenience of having your diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up all in one location.
Whether it's a routine checkup or a second opinion, our team is here to help. Same-day appointments available at all three locations.
